I then went back to time Machine and put in my username/password and Time Machine opened the Elements_25A3 and started the first back up in 3 weeks. Figuring it couldn’t hurt, I changed a setting to give her full access to my Share. We are both set up to have Full access to our Share, but we did not have share access to each other’s Share. Under the User section I showed ‘Share Access’ was set up for me and my wife. TimeMachine was not set to Private Share, I show 10TB available and the setting is to allow the max. I’m hopeful a future user can recreate my success. Although neither Voyager spacecraft is heading toward any particular star, Voyager 1 will pass within 1.6 light-years. I can’t say why this worked, but I’m going to call this one solved. I’m beginning to believe you have magical powers. Would be so helpful if you could point me in the right direction.īennor, Thanks for your help. But I am getting the same “Error authenticating…” notification. I then went into Time Machine and removed the Elements_24A3, closed the app and then went back in and attempted to select Elements 25A3 on “WDM圜loud.local” as the Backup Disk. I tried turning the devices on and off, turning the router on and off… “Error authenticating with the provided username or password.” After getting this “Unable to authenticate” error putting in my username and password from the User profile section of the M圜loud app… I read on this forum that I am supposed to log in as guest. I selected Elements_25A3 and was asked for the username and password for this device. In Time Machine app, if I go to ‘Select Disk…’ I see my Elements_25A3 is the selected Backup disk and it is also listed as an available disk. Through the Finder, I am able to access WDM圜loud without any problems. Error says “Time Machine couldn’t complete the backup to WDM圜loud.local” About three weeks ago after no problems for maybe 6 months Time Machine back ups stopped. Running a MacBookPro with BigSur I have a WDM圜loud USB connected to a 12TB Elements_25A3 and the firmware for the M圜loud is v04.05.00-342 : Core F/W. If you have not set a username and password you can leave these fields blank.Searched around on the forum for this and didn’t find anything.
